Last weekend we made the trip to Paxton, IL for Paxton Swine 'N Dine.
Thanks to Dennis Nowman for putting on a great competition.
We ended up with
5th chicken
3rd in ribs
3rd overall
Congrats to all the teams who heard their names called and a special shout out to Cameron from Skinny Pig Steel on the awesome charcoal chimney trophies and the RGC.
While we were in Paxton our son CJ went and competed at the South County Love Your Neighborhood cook-off. He walked away with an impressive
1st place Ribs
2nd place Brisket
2nd place BBQ Sauce
1st overall winning the Triple Crown Trophy (GRAND CHAMPION)🏆🏆🏆

2nd overall with
Reserve Grand Champion.

Last Saturday we competed at Up in smoke on the Square in Lincoln, Illinois. What a great competition.

1st in Chicken (180 Perfect Score)
6th in Ribs
1st overall (Grand Champion)
Congrats to E Squared BBQ on the RGC.
It was nice to hang out with our BBQ friends and met a couple new ones.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to open today. We lost power for a couple of hours last night, and the food we had prepared for today was in our warming cabinets and reached unsafe temperatures. As much as it hurts to do it, we cannot serve food that we aren’t 100% comfortable with.

We’re already cooking again and doing everything we can to get back up and running. We’re hoping to be back open tomorrow.

We’re truly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s understanding and support. ❤️

We’ll be closed this Saturday, August 29th for a special event. We truly appreciate all of your continued support and understanding.

Today at Smokin E’s BBQ, we had the incredible opportunity to serve 400 free meals 🙌🔥

We truly hope each one was a blessing to those who needed it. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and helped make today something special ❤️

A huge shoutout as well to everyone who donated while picking up meals, and an extra special thank you to Class Act Painting LLC for your generous contribution. We are passing the donations along to The Smoking Pastor so the giving doesn’t stop here—the blessing keeps going 🙏

We’ll be closed for a few days as we restock and reset, and we’ll be back open for regular business on Wednesday, August 26th.

We appreciate each and every one of you more than words can say. See y’all Wednesday! 👏🔥

Special Update ❤️

Tomorrow, August 20th, starting at 11 AM until gone, we’ll be giving out free pork sandwich meals to anyone in need at our location in Lake Station.

Each meal includes a pulled pork sandwich, chips, and water.

We will not have our regular menu, just the free meals while supplies last.

All are welcome.

We’re happy to help out our community and hope we can make a difference. ❤️
