Located in picturesque Lake Lure, North Carolina, the Inn was first opened to guests in 1927. The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa has expanded to include inviting gardens, wedding locations, restaurants, and an elegant spa. Designed with leisure in mind, the nostalgic atmosphere of The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa is apparent the moment you enter its historic foyer. Recently restored to its full splendor, the Inn is home to a unique collection of art and antiques, and each of our rooms is furnished with modern amenities for your comfort during your stay. Dine in our Veranda restaurant and enjoy beautiful views overlooking our poolside gardens, lake, and surrounding mountains. Libations (and spirits) abide in the Moose and Goose Lounge, offering direct lobby access and intimate seating overlooking the lake. Pamper yourself at the IronGate, our full service spa offering relaxing treatment rooms and a variety of services. Meet The Last Penny; a tavern and bodega-style market coming to our sister property, The Lodge at Banner Elk, this winter!

Part neighborhood market, part mountain tavern, Last Penny is made for fueling up before a day on the trails or slopes, grabbing a bite with friends, or settling in for a drink after a day outside. Think good food, cold drinks, an indoor/outdoor space, and a place that feels just as welcoming to locals as it does to travelers.

And we’re not just building a restaurant. Last Penny is designed to be a year-round gathering place, for powder days, summer afternoons, leaf season, private gatherings, community events, and everything in between. 🔪 By popular demand, we've added a second night to our Murder Mystery Dinner & Show! Wow, the interest in this one has been incredible. 🎉 Our Saturday experience on Halloween night has officially SOLD OUT, and because so many of you asked for tickets (and plenty of parents told us they were sad to miss it but needed to take the kiddos trick-or-treating), we're opening up a brand-new date!

Antique Boat Show- Oct 2 & 3
Saturday, Oct 3 (10 am–4 pm) is Show Day, open to the public with live music, a b**r & w**e bar, the food truck, and captains offering rides so you can experience these timeless beauties out on the water.

Lake Lure Fall Arts & Crafts Festival- Oct 17 & 18
This beloved festival fills the area with local artisans and handmade treasures. And when the art show wraps, the party moves to the beach! Join us for live music from the Clarke Road Band, a b**r & w**e bar, s’mores, and a food truck!

Halloween Murder Mystery Experience- Oct 31
A night of clues, mystery, and deception 🔪 Can you catch the killer before the reveal? $75 per person includes a 3-course dinner and the show. 6 pm, costumes encouraged, reservations required. Call our front desk to reserve. 🕵️

Bourbon Tasting- Nov 8
An elevated evening (4:30–6:30 pm) featuring a coursed pairing meal with dessert, bourbon espresso martinis, and a cigar lounge to finish. Hosted with Maker’s Mark Distillery. A can’t-miss for bourbon lovers 🥃

“We’ve stayed here a number of times through the years. Friendly staff and peaceful location. The staff ensures your comfort to make every stay memorable. Great view. The history is certainly a draw and the Inn should never fade from operation in Lake Lure. I always feel like I’m actually on vacation at the Inn. The serenity and surrounding views are irreplaceable. It’s so nice to see the area recovering from the hurricane.
