☀️ BLESSED TO BE BUSY! ☀️

August through Labor Day was one AWESOME grind for our Locals crew! 💪🔥 And we wouldn’t have it any other way!

From catering numerous local w**ery events at Blustone Vineyards and French Valley Vineyard to celebrating with the crew at Molon | Northern Michigan Asphalt and Excavating | employee appreciation party, we’ve been keeping the Thunderbird smoker rolling! 🔥

And then came a special request we couldn’t resist… a 140-pound whole hog smoked for a wedding reception!
Talk about a labor of love by our Pit Boss Bruce—and WOW, was it good! 🤤🐖

We are incredibly grateful for every local business, family, wedding, w**ery, and event that has trusted Locals Lake Leelanau to help feed their people. ❤️ Your support keeps our crew busy, our smoker rolling, and our hearts full!

Now that we’re officially heading into the “ber” months 🍂🎃🦃🎄, we’re shifting gears and gearing up for holiday parties and celebrations!

💙 SOME PEOPLE ARE MORE THAN TEAMMATES… THEY ARE FAMILY. 💙

There are some people who become part of your TEAM… and then there are those who become part of your FAMILY. 💙🥹

This past weekend, we said goodbye to one of those special people — Maximus, aka “Max.” 💪❤️

After being part of our team since DAY ONE of Locals — and working at the Lodge for two years before that — Max wrapped up his time with us in true Max fashion… helping us cater an AMAZING event at French Valley, where that signature smile of his helped stamp the day with love. 😁🙌🏼

Now, he’s heading into the final phases of his college studies as he works toward earning his degree, and while we’re incredibly excited for what’s ahead, saying goodbye is definitely bittersweet. 🥹🎓

I’ve had the privilege of watching this young man grow and accomplish SO much — State Football Championships 🏈, Rugby Championships 🏉, Wrestling Titles 🤼‍♂️, supporting his teammates ❤️, embracing leadership 😎, and so much more.

Honestly… we could write a BOOK about the content of this young man’s character. 📖

But what stands out most? His heart. ❤️

Max LOVES his family. He loves his teams. He shows up for the people around him. And he leads with a quiet, giant heart that makes an impact without ever needing the spotlight. 💙

Max — we are SO PROUD OF YOU, DUDE!! 🤘🏼

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being exactly the person God made you to be. 🙏🏻 We are grateful for every laugh, every hard-working day, every event, every memory and every moment you’ve shared with the Locals family.

This isn’t goodbye… it’s “see you down the road.” ❤️

Go chase those dreams, Max. We’ll always be cheering you on — and probably the loudest — from the Leelanau Peninsula! 🙌🏼🤩💪🏼

We’re closed today as we’re excited to host a private catering event right here at the restaurant! 🎉

Our crew is coming off an AMAZING week of welcoming wonderful guests at Locals, along with multiple offsite catering events throughout the week. From French Valley to Blustone, Northport to Frankfort… the Thunderbird smoker has been on the move! 😎🔥

And what a way to cap off our offsite catering week! Last night we had the BEST time at Music in the Vineyard at Blustone — serving up BBQ for 200+ guests, enjoying incredible blues music, and sipping on some excellent w**e. 🍷🎶

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who welcomed the Locals crew this week! We love bringing our food, our smoker, and our Locals love wherever the party takes us. ❤️

Now it’s time to fire up the smoker, enjoy today’s private event, and get ready for another great week at Locals!
