One year ago today, the Shanghai team was at a loss.

Alex, one of our chefs, had been with Shanghai since 1989—37 years.
Lynda, one of our managers, 36 years.
Maria, one of our prep cooks, 34.
Salomon, 30.
Jose, 28.
Crystal, 22.

Our team put in decades of dedication to perfecting recipes, cooking good food, and serving the community—and overnight, everything was lost.

Looking back, it's shocking to see how far we've come. After countless long nights of hard work by Shanghai’s owners, Tien and Tina Nguyen, we were finally able to reopen this August in a new (smaller!) location that we now call home: Little Shanghai. Little did we know that only one year after the fire, we'd have the opportunity to continue supporting our team, and the honor of continuing to serve our community with the food that Lake Jackson has enjoyed for generations.

If you haven’t visited our new home yet, we'd love to see you. There will always be a place for you at our table. ❤️
