BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

A New Chapter for Nelda’s Diner

After 50 wonderful years of Nelda’s Diner, and nearly 25 years with Frank and Donella Brassell at the helm, the time has come for us to slow down a little.

For so many years, Nelda’s Diner has been much more than a business to us. It has been a huge part of our lives. We have watched families grow, made lifelong friends, shared countless conversations, and had the privilege of serving generations of customers.

As Frank and Donella approach 70, we’ve realized it’s time to start enjoying a little more life outside of work. We aren’t ready to walk away from what we love—we’re just ready to do a little less of it.

So, Nelda’s Diner will be entering a new chapter.

We will be downsizing our operation and focusing on breakfast and lunch, with new hours of:

7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

You’ll still find the familiar faces, good food, and hometown atmosphere that have made Nelda’s special for all these years—just with a little more time for us to enjoy life beyond the diner.

To our customers, friends, employees, and community: thank you. Thank you for your loyalty, your friendship, your stories, your laughter, and your support throughout the years. We could never have reached 50 years without you, and we are incredibly grateful that you continue to support us as we begin this next chapter.

This isn’t retirement, and it certainly isn’t goodbye.

It’s just Nelda’s Diner slowing down a little.

Southern style Cajun skillet. With potatoes, bell peppers, onion, Cajun andouille sausage, New Orleans style red gravy with 2 eggs any style!!!
(Option to add shrimp) for those who like it more southern!!!

Monte Cristo sandwich. Thick slice Texas toast battered and fried with ham and Swiss cheese. Covered in powdered sugar and strawberry glaze! This is a favorite!!!

Lunch is Texas beef and cheddar sandwich. Grilled Texas toast, cheddar cheese,slice roast beef, grill tomatoes and Ortega chili.

Breakfast we have Maple Butter Rum chicken and waffles!!
Philly style breakfast sandwich. Deep pit, onions, bell peppers pepper jack cheese scrambled up with egg and served on a roll.

For lunch we’re doing our Chicken Cordon Blue sandwich. Grilled or crispy chicken topped with ham and real melted Swiss, with our Alfredo sauce on a bun with lettuce and tomato!!
