The exact origin of the name Hopatcong is unknown, though it is most commonly attributed to the Lenape Indian word for "stone water," or "stone over water". Paying tribute to Lake Hopatcong's Lenape Indian roots, Stone Water is the region's newest lakefront dining experience. Created by Joe and Lisa Leifken, in partnership with Gary Whitman of Windsor Capital Management, the restaurant features a magnificent East Coast influenced menu created by Executive Chef Domenick Torlucci. Come by boat or car to enjoy a meal, a unique and inviting atmosphere, and unparalleled views of New Jersey's largest lake, Lake Hopatcong. Stone Water is a casual atmosphere. Does Stone Water take reservations? Stone Water accepts reservations for all party sizes; outdoor dining is first-come, first-serve. We do not take reservations through Facebook. To make a reservation, please call us at (973) 810-3858. Currently, Stone Water is open Tuesday through Sunday. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. Please visit our website for daily hours or call the restaurant to confirm holiday hours. What is the parking situation? Stone Water has 17 boat slips for restaurant patrons, as well as a large parking lot. Since our lot and dock slips are a bit tight when the restaurant is busy, please take advantage of our complimentary valet service and dock deckhands! What forms of payment are accepted? We accept all major credit cards: Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover as well as cash. Where can I find your menu? The Stone Water menu is available on our website at www.stonewaternj.com. Please be sure to ask your server about our weekly specials! Does Stone Water host private events? Stone Water is the perfect waterfront venue at which to host a large or small dinner party, luncheon, corporate event, anniversary, shower, wedding or birthday celebration.
