Corn Tortilla
The indigenous people of Mesoamerica invented a vital cooking method called nixtamalization, which involved soaking dried corn kernels in water mixed with lime. This process transformed the kernels into a workable dough called masa. Fast forward 12,000 years, and that’s how we make our corn tortillas at Oxodo. We use single-origin heirloom corn, water, lime, and a lot of love!
Our tortillas are 100% clean, free from GMOs, synthetic pesticides, and preservatives.
We use only three ingredients: corn, water, and lime.
Generations of farming and wisdom go into making a tortilla made with love, unlike those made for profit.
We could buy cheaper tortillas made with processed corn flour sprayed with glyphosates, propionic acid, sodium propionate, benzoic acid, gums, stabilizers (cellulose gum and carboxymethyl cellulose/CMC), processed oils and emulsifiers (soybean oil, mono- and diglycerides), added sugars and dextrose, and preservatives.
Choose wisely, amigos!
