Shoreline Café came to being by a chance encounter in another small Northern Michigan town. A great panini and a superb latte led to the idea that Lake City needed a place where people could come together to gather, where we could make connection with one another a priority and press the reset button on our busy lives. A place where family could gather and relationships could flourish. A place to unplug and find some quiet. A place where we could show others love through service. Shoreline Café will be many things to many people, but at its core, this is our hope. What sets our coffee apart? Here at Shoreline Café, we serve only Mundos Roasting & Company and Owl Eye Coffee Roasters freshly roasted coffee beans. Conventional coffees often taste bitter and burnt. Traditional roasting methods roast the beans until the sugars are released… and then they continue to roast them, scorching the sugars and burning the beans. Both Mundos & Owl Eye Roasters have taken the craft of roasting beans to a new level. There is no need for heavy sugars or sweeteners, no need for flavoring in your coffee, no need to cover up the natural flavors with dense cream. While we agree there is a place for the decadence of sweet and creamy, we would also love to introduce you to a cup of coffee that you will enjoy without these additions. So go ahead and indulge in every end of the coffee spectrum - we have worked hard to make sure wherever you land between crisp and clean and creamy and cozy, you’ll love what we serve up! Our breakfast and lunch menus feature only high quality ingredients and you will taste the difference. Breakfast bagels, locally created baked goods, a panini for every palate, & delicious soups in the fall & winter! (We like to say that Shoreline Cafe is where warm & cozy meet in the cooler months in Lake City!)
