Yesterday we discovered someone making a reservation had made reservations online, but had received no response/confirmation, so they called the restaurant and left a message. They had provided their credit card information to the website autoreserve.com and the site indicated they would be charged, for making the reservation!!!??? While there hadn't been any charges on their card, I strongly recommended she cancel the card immediately.
ALL OUR RESERVATIONS WE MANAGE OURSELVES!!!! By phone is best, however via email (okay, but response may be delayed,) and Facebook Messenger (we discourage using FB Messenger, it's a thorn in our side, we have enough communication methods already and don't need another.)
We do not charge for making reservations, however we do require credit card information for special events, which is mainly to make sure that they fulfill their comittment.
We have attempted to demand our listing be removed, however any means to communicate directly with anyone (probably AI managed...) is unavailable. And this is probably not the only site catching people unaware.
We are a small, independent restaurant and handle everything ourselves...no outside parties....and no plans to change.

Also, we always confirm reservations with a callback, please add us as a contact in your phone otherwise our confirmation call may go to SPAM and you will not get a notification that we called back. It's becoming apparent that many people never see that we called to confirm the reservation, although we always call back to confirm.
