Meet Jamil 🎾🏓

A nationally ranked senior pro pickleball player, former collegiate tennis standout, and the leader behind our pickleball program at LNRC.

Jamil competed for UC Berkeley before reaching #1 in USTA 40+ doubles and later making the transition to pickleball, where he climbed to a #10 national singles ranking. His career highlights include a Triple Crown at the Newport Beach Regionals and gold at the Margaritaville Nationals.

Today, Jamil brings that competitive experience to our courts with a high-energy, data-driven approach to player development. From private and group lessons to live drill clinics and club programming, he works with players at every level to help them improve their game.

Thales brings years of high-level playing experience and a strong reputation in Southern California tennis to Spearman Clubs. His coaching goes beyond technique—helping players build confidence, discipline, and a competitive mindset both on and off the court.

As a highly ranked junior player, Thales competed at an elite level and trained alongside respected coaches who helped shape the way he approaches the game today.

At LNRC, Thales works alongside Brandon Fallon to lead West Coast Elite Tennis Academy, our high-performance program dedicated to developing competitive junior players and helping them reach their full potential.

Meet Veena. 🤍

For more than 20 years, Veena has been a part of the Spearman Clubs family, helping members move with intention, build strength, and find balance both on and off the mat.

With over three decades of teaching experience, Dr. Veena Grover brings an extraordinary depth of knowledge to every class. She is a certified Ananda Yoga instructor, holds a doctorate in martial arts, multiple black belts, and a master’s certification in yoga. While her credentials are remarkable, what our members know her for is something even more meaningful—her kindness, patience, and genuine care for every person she teaches.

Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or have practiced for years, Veena creates a welcoming space where everyone can grow at their own pace.

Champions!

Congratulations to LNRC’s 3.5 USTA 18 & Over Team for winning the USTA Southern California Sectional Championships this weekend!

With outstanding teamwork and clutch performances throughout the team has earned a spot at USTA Nationals this October.

A special congratulations to captains Bry Dariush Shen and Cassie Beh Hadfield for leading the way, and to the entire team on an incredible achievement.
