Today is the anniversary of our dear Aunt Linda’s passing. Some of you will recall her helping you at the front counter with a sweet smile and engaging conversation. We miss her terribly. To honor her passing and her dedication to Mammaw’s Sweet Shoppe, we have added some hummingbird cookies to boxes of dollar day cookies along with some butterfly cookies to honor Dolly. If you receive either in your box of cookies, please attach a pic of yourself holding your box of cookies WITH the special cookie in the box and we will give you 12 more for free. You have until 10/31/26 to place your order. Remember to give us 72 hours’ notice. Have a great day, everyone.

Today is DOLLY DAY (Dollar day). We have selected several flavors of cupcakes and iced sugar cookies to sell today for $1ea. We will also be taking donations to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in her honor and will match your donations dollar for dollar.

Please forgive me while I rant. For the last 12 years we have been having regular dollar days mostly as a thank you to our terrific customers who have supported us over the past 22+ years. Back in July, someone bought $28 worth of products on dollar day and then promptly charged back the sale to the processor. We disputed the chargeback, of course but by the grace of the banking gods, we lost our dispute. This person did come in and did order cupcakes and cookies from us but charged back as a a goods not as described. Huh?
I am infuriated by this because it is simply theft. When the time comes for Mammaw’s Sweet Shoppe to close for good, it will be because of people like this who prefer lie and steal from us over $28. It’s ridiculous. And yes, I realize it’s ONLY $28. But what if 10 people tried to do the same thing. What if 20 did. It is hard enough to make money in this business without people stealing from us. I hope “Ally” enjoyed her stolen cupcakes and cookies. Rant over.
