Well, tomorrow marks my sixth year as the owner of Andie’s Restaurant. My how time flies by!
Owning your own business, or being owned by a business as I like to say, is often like riding a roller coaster. Which is highly ironic because I HATE roller coasters! Roller coasters are thrilling and terrifying all at the same time. You buckle in, hang on, say a few prayers and hope everything is still intact at the end.
Many things I can control: the flavor of the food, orders, schedules, the menu, what desserts we are having, etc… Other things ( also many) are out of my control. I cannot control the weather, road construction, the economy, employees to some extent, or customers. All of these things impact my business. All of these things can be incredibly stressful to say the least. You learn to manage, make adjustments, and try again.
There is one thing that has made this journey worth it. It’s the people who stand beside me making things happen everyday. I could never do this without help because it takes a village! It’s the cooks, the servers, the dishwashers, and my friends and family that support me every. single. day. It’s the customers who come in, share their stories, have a few laughs and become part of the the story of Andie’s. You make it all worth it. You make my heart happy and my world brighter! I am honored and privileged to be part of the community and part of your lives! So I say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for sharing my journey and letting us feed you! You make it all worthwhile!
