Before there were 3 locations… there was just Selma ❤️🍕
The heart behind Selma’s Chicago Pizzeria started with a grandmother who believed food should never be rushed, shortcuts weren’t an option, and everything was made from scratch with love. 🫶🏻
Selma was the family matriarch, always happiest in the kitchen, cooking for the people she cared about most. 🍝
When her kids and grandkids would come home, you could find her doing what she loved—prepping her favorite dishes, using only the best ingredients, and making sure no one left the table hungry. That tradition didn’t just feed her family… it shaped generations.
Years later, her grandson, Mike Phillips Jr., along with co-founder Eric Miller, brought that same philosophy to life in 2003 when Selma’s Chicago Pizzeria was born. What started as a commitment to carry on her recipes turned into something bigger—three locations, a loyal community, and a menu still rooted in Selma’s original way of cooking. 🍕
And one more thing about Selma… she loved a good gimlet 🍸
So next time you’re in, order one in her honor!
Come for the pizza, stay for the story!
