Well as you know we have closed and just another reminder that our friends are still open at Jordans, Dairy Queen, and Happy Cow. By the way Happy Cow has a great special apple pie and top it with ice cream. I might jump the line pretending to be a delivery man and go in the back door carrying an empty box. Who said it was Labor Day? What happened to July and August? The store will close for the season on Monday at 4pm. As in years past it was hard to fill last week shifts but somehow the great kids working have been doing a super job. Lots of kids have returned to school and college and I thank them for the quality of work and service they provided to Liliuokalanis Ice Cream & Coffee Bar during the summer. So remember we close at 4pm and if you come by at 6pm and door is open please lock it. Now remember our friends at Happy Cow on union ave and Dairy Queen are still open so please drop by and support them.

Just another reminder that we are closing at 9pm and hope for 10pm weekends. Some of the kids are in school already and tough finding some shifts to fill. As always thanks for your support and might be some bumps in the road as we have some new kids helping out. I was even on the cash register the other night and it might have been better if I stayed home. I opened a bag of soft serve and slipped through my fingers casing the top to pop and shoot soft serve all over me and 4 feet out on the floor. The kids looked at me and I know what they were thinking. Yes I cleaned it up and they continued to serve and I could hear the chuckles. So thanks for your support and understanding.

Maybe you noticed but we had to close early as we had water problems and did not want to mess with hot water system and bathroom issues. Some of you were shocked when I told you in the parking lot that Happy Cow ice cream our friends shop is opened. We have a great relationship with them. Thanks for your understanding

Wow summer is winding down fast as some of the kids are already going back to school around here and out of state. Remember the old days when school always started the day after Labor Day. Not sure why they need to do this but I'm not the boss and just roll along like other I guess. The days during the summer go by so fast and Winter seems forever. Enjoy what we have and I will post some changes near end of the month. To the kids heading back please be smart, safe, and enjoy the things we have.

So last night we we slammed with non stop people in line and yes it was great. The kids worked hard and non stop taking care of the great customers. We had 3 people that came in together and it was one complaint after another from all 3. The service was slow, the lines are too long and guess what the Sundae they ordered is not wanted they thought it was. They kept giving the kids a hard time and finally one rude comment was returned with sorry but maybe you should go someplace else. Now this young lady who is a great worker called me and said she was sorry and had to let me know it was her in case i got some complaints. I told her "next time just forget the idiot and thank you for your letting me know". She was right by telling me and also right in her response to the idiot". If you need to belittle my kids or cause problems ask for me or send me a message. We have other places in the area to serve your entitled needs, please try them. You have no right to be a jerk in our place, just be a jerk someplace else. Now i could be right or i cold be wrong but being a jerk to some hard working kid on a saturday night is not what i want in our place.
