🎬 Behind the scenes at LaRoy’s…

Family Edition: It may look a little chaotic (mostly because it is when you’re running a business with six kids 😆😅) but it’s our chaos, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Sometimes it looks like the kids helping decorate, making a Menards run for remodel materials, working events, or grabbing a quick bite between projects. And sometimes, a “we’re just going to finish one more thing” kind of night turns into the kids camping out on the floor… which turns into a movie night instead! 🍿🎬

And sometimes… it’s just a whole lot of laughing, silliness, and real-life. ❤️

We’re putting a lot of love, time, and a little bit of chaos into making LaRoy’s the best it can be. Because this isn’t just a venue to us. It’s a family project, and we’re loving every minute of the journey. 🥰

🍀 A little late sharing this… but this one deserves to be shared! 🍀

Back in August, during the Monroe County Fair, we had the privilege of supporting our local 4-H youth by purchasing several animals from some pretty incredible young exhibitors.

If you’ve ever been around 4-H, you know how much goes into these projects. The time, hard work, responsibility, early mornings, late nights, and the love these kids pour into their animals is something really special. Trust us, we know… all six of our kids are involved in 4-H! 😮‍💨😂 We’ve seen firsthand just how much these kids put into their projects. It’s so much more than just showing an animal at the fair. It teaches kids dedication, commitment, responsibility, and the value of hard work.

Caleb grew up participating in 4-H, so being on the other side now and having the opportunity to give back to a program that was such a big part of his childhood feels pretty special. We feel incredibly honored to be able to give back to a program that does so much for the youth in our community.

A true full-circle moment. 💛

We are so proud to be part of this community and grateful for the opportunity to invest in these young people and their families. And to every 4-H exhibitor who worked so hard this year… we see you, we’re proud of you, and we hope you know just how much your hard work matters. 🫶🏻

This was an off-site wedding, and WOW!! Look what they did! 😍

They took a backyard, a basic white tent, and a blank canvas and completely transformed it into a beautiful space to celebrate love, family, and a new beginning. 🤍🥂

We wanted to take a moment to introduce to you some of the faces you may see around the venue and share a little bit about our “why”. ♥️

Caleb and I have always believed in the importance of family, hard work, and creating spaces where people feel welcomed. One of the biggest reasons we chose this journey was the opportunity to build something together as a family and give our kids experiences that will help shape who they become.

From landscaping and cleaning to setting up events and working behind the scenes, this has truly become a family effort. While LaRoy’s is a professional event venue, at its heart it is a family-run business, and we love giving our children the opportunity to learn responsibility, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and the value of hard work through real-life experiences.

If you see our kids around the venue, don’t hesitate to say hello! Feel free to ask them what they’re working on or strike up a conversation. We hope these experiences help them grow in confidence, communication, and character. They are part of the next generation of our community, and we believe the lessons they’re learning today will help shape the people they become tomorrow.

LaRoy’s has a long and special history in the Monroe community, and we are honored to continue building on that foundation while welcoming families, businesses, and celebrations through our doors.

We’re so excited to officially share we, Caleb and Brittany Matthes, are the new owners of LaRoy’s Event Center! 🎉🎉🎉

First and foremost we want to take a moment to thank Jim LaRoy for the many years of dedication, hard work, and heart he has poured into LaRoy’s. The impact he has made on this community is something we don’t take lightly, and we are honored to continue building upon the foundation he created. We hope to carry forward the same welcoming spirit and commitment to making LaRoy’s a place where people can gather, celebrate, and create lasting memories.

As with everything we do, this is truly a family effort. Our kids have already spent countless hours helping with projects, landscaping, cleaning, and working events, and we couldn’t be more thankful for their excitement and willingness to be part of this journey.

We also couldn’t do this without the incredible support of our venue manager, Tiffany, founder and director of Odds & Ends Events. From the very beginning, she has poured so much time, energy, and heart into helping us make this dream a success. Her creativity, passion for the event industry, and vision for what LaRoy’s can become have been truly inspiring. Beyond all of that, we are so thankful for her friendship and the genuine care she brings to everything she does. She has a way of pouring herself into the things and people that matter to her, and we are incredibly grateful to have her by our side. ♥️
