Today, our hearts are heavy.

We were deeply saddened to learn of the unexpected passing of La Grange Mayor John Black.

From the day Ernestos Mexican Cuisine first opened our doors, Mayor Black made us feel welcome. Through the challenges of COVID and beyond, he was a constant source of support and encouragement—not just for our restaurant, but for the entire La Grange community.

His kindness, leadership, and genuine care for local businesses and the people who call this community home will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Karen, their family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched during this incredibly difficult time.

La Grange has lost a truly remarkable leader, and we have lost a friend.

Rest in peace, Mayor Black. Thank you for believing in us and for everything you did for our community. ❤️
