I'm so glad everyone wants Houghts to reopen! I'm hoping I can find the right buyer to make that happen!

Thank you for being interested in Houghts! I'm getting a lot of messages of how much $$ for Houghts!!
Please be patient, I am working out the details for the sale of Houghts. (I am not going through a realtor.)

What I can share is, I have a vintage, sturdy 3 bedroom home, 1 1/2 bath with a basement and a 2 car garage, attached to the restaurant. It also has a front and back yard, with plum, and peach tree. Including raspberry bushes. Gas forced air heating including a gas fire place. No air-conditioning in the home.

It's with a heavy heart I post this!!
(It's taken me a while to post this on Hought's page. She was such an awesome employee! She had her own business too.)

Never thought this day would come.
Just got word that my long time friend, AWESOME employee, Eva Shells, passed away Fri June 20. 😭 (December 7, 1959- June 20, 2025)
She had a stroke many years ago and was put in a nursing home. I went to see her from time to time, but as life goes, wasn't enough time. So, I learned a hard lesson, don't wait to visit that loved one. It might be too late! RIP Eve! I'm going to miss our laughs together and much more! ❤️

Good afternoon, Hought's family!

Just wanted to update you a little bit.

I haven't sold Hought's. Sorry there won't be any Ice cream and homemade burgers this year. 😞

I've accepted a cool kitchen job at an outdoor Cabana Bar & Grill, in Elephant Butte Lake, N.M. We opened yesterday at 4, for the summer season. (I've only been volunteering at the VFW and American Legion, in the kitchen. I guess I can't stay out of a kitchen! Lol)

I really miss you ALL! The sun and family is where I need to be for now. 🌞
I hope everything is going well for each and every one of you!

And that's a wrap for 2024!

Oh my gosh, What a CrAzY Great BUSY season we had!
(Have to admit, we were a bit tired at the end! We had a great time, though!)

Again, I want to thank my employees for hanging in there with me to the end!
Most of all, I want to THANK ALL MY CUSTOMERS FOR SUPPORTING US FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS! ❤️

P.S. 10/13/24- Oh how I MISS YOU!! It's been almost a month and I'm having customer withdrawals!! (No kidding! I feel so lost without you!! I guess I just needed a few extra days off!) 😞
I'm in NM getting sunbaked with family! Having the time of my life! ❤️

Oh my...It's taken me 5 days to recover & to write this without tears!

I just have to say, I am so OVERWHELMED and DEEPLY touched by all your heartwarming messages. ❤️
I'm at a loss of words. I humbly say "THANK YOU!" "THANK YOU!"

Thank you for the years that you came in and helped me through my grief!
You gave me the love I needed after my husband passed away. That's what kept me going every year.

I always loved to hear the stories of how you came in as a kid, after going to the swimming pool or grandma's house. Then you would bring your kids or grandkids back in.

I sure enjoyed meeting all of you!!!
I never wanted anyone to be a number. You were always family! ❤️

To all the vendors I dealt with, it's been a pleasure!

To the people that loved us, I say we'll see you around! Much LOVE to you all! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I already MISS YOU!

Forgive me for interrupting your scrolling, but I am so excited that I just had to share with you that we have reached our 20th year of selling homemade burgers, that was on September 7th!
The price of my burgers has increased from $2.75 to $7.50 over the years.

I am DEEPLY SADDENED to announce my retirement, finally! 😞 (Those words just don't seem real! That sounds like I'm old or something.. oh...maybe I am...
As I've talked with some of you, IT'S TIME!)

I have seen so many changes, including watching children grow into adults and bringing in their own children. The best part has been meeting all of you!! I am ever so grateful for your support over the past 20 years!!! ❤️ Thanks to all the hard working employees throughout the years!
Oh, how I'm going to MISS ALL OF YOU!! 😩

Please come visit one last time by Sunday 15th. I will be moving to NM and am currently working on finding a buyer for Houghts.
