MILTON-FREEWATER — Enjoy an evening of dining and entertainment at the annual Base of the Blues Bash presented by the Milton-Freewater Rotary Club on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The event will be held at the Milton-Freewater Community Center, 109 NE Fifth Ave., from 5-9 p.m.

A social hour begins at 5 p.m. featuring local wines and Dragon’s Gate Brewery, and the chance to check out silent auction items.

At 6 p.m., Tate’s Umapine Mercantile will serve a prime rib dinner. Music by The Wasteland Kings starts at 7 p.m. Based in La Grande with appearances across Eastern Oregon and beyond, the Americana sound of The Wasteland Kings has packed venues since 2008.

This is a 21 and older event. Tickets can be purchased from a Rotary member or online at mfrotary.org under “Base of the Blues Bash event details.”

Tickets are $60 each for dinner and admission with a $2 service fee to cover the credit card processing costs. Base of the Blues Bash tickets include entrance, appetizers, dinner, dessert and live entertainment.

Tickets purchased online will be available at the door, but be sure to bring a printed receipt.

Proceeds from the Bash allow the Milton-Freewater Rotary Club and Rotary Foundation to support a variety of local youth, senior, and community projects and activities, as well as projects that provide access to clean water and health needs in the developing world.

“We are focused on making our community and the world around us a better, happier place,” said Milton-Freewater Rotary President Luis Alvarez. “With the help of our tireless members, we organize fundraisers, exciting community-building events, build playgrounds, sports fields, and provide scholarships. We look forward to seeing you at the Bash!”

Mike Mallory Trio features members of The Wasteland Kings in an acoustic setting with Mike on guitar and vocals at the helm, Jerry Smith on guitar, and Al MacLeod on bass. You'll hear memorable takes on classic folk, blues, and Americana songs. Bring a lawn chair and the whole fam-damly...it's a wonderful setting for music and a wonderful part of the world to visit!

COURTHOUSE CONCERT SERIES
For the 19th consecutive year, the Music Alliance presents the Courthouse Concert Series on the lawn of the Wallowa County Courthouse (101 S River St, Enterprise, OR 97828). Every Thursday afternoon, 5:30pm – 7:00pm, beginning in June, the community gathers to enjoy free ninety-minute performances by local and regional musicians. The concert series features a broad range of musical genres, including classical, folk, jazz, and rock, FREE and open to the public. A perfect opportunity to pack a picnic, bring family, meet up with friends and enjoy the music! Thanks to the Wallowa County Board of Commissioners, Wallowa County Cultural Trust Coalition and the City of Enterprise for support of this program.
