Since 2012, Iguana’s Mexican Street Cafe has been serving up La Crosse’s favorite tacos, burritos, tamales, and much more -- and we’ve had a killer time doing it. We’re all about making sure our customers have as much fun as we do, and we want you to feel right at home when you’re with us.

This isn’t going to be easy. I mean, right now what is? I don’t think anyone needs to say again how hard these times have been. And for us in the restaurant business, it’s certainly taken its toll. What some people may not understand is that it is even hard for the ones who are doing well and are still open, like us, because these are still uncertain times. Every day you are faced with new choices and decisions and worries. It takes a toll on you mentally, physically, and emotionally. It is also during times like these that we are reminded of what really matters.

So let me start with gratitude for all of the support and love that you have given. We came through it strong and it’s all because we were in it together. But sometimes, it’s just better to end on a high note. They say it’s smarter to quit while you’re ahead. So it is with a very heavy heart that we have decided to say goodbye to our little Iguana’s on September 10, not because we all didn’t do enough, but because we did. We will finish out a couple of truck events in September as well. After that, it’s time to move on to new adventures.

We’ve watched bellies become babies, (many had their first restaurant meals with us,) kids grow up, (ours included, and I hired some of yours,)😊celebrated countless graduations, danced at your weddings, laughed, cried, and laughed some more. We let good food unify us and give us comfort in times of great division and fear. We want to thank you all for sharing your lives with us, your important events, your families, your date nights, your kind words, and your endless outpourings of love. Thanks for 9 1/2 years of memories and letting us be part of your history. We will cherish all of it. We’d love to hear your favorite Iguana’s memories if you have the chance. Once “Iguana’s Family,” now just family. 🥲
