Yesterday we celebrated Berge’s Sandwiches 50th anniversary!! 🎊 A family shop known for that feel good staple sandwich in town. But did you know? When it originally opened in 1972, it was an import store with meats and pastries (no sandwiches yet at that time). It wasn’t until the neighborhood started nudging for sandwiches that our beloved grandfather, Berge, decided to incorporate serving lunch. He began slicing every ingredient with love, and within 6-months his sandwiches were a total hit! Instead of import goods and pastries…he decided to devote himself to serving delicious food to the community. Since those days and his passing, our grandmother Queeny has lovingly upheld his vision. His legacy is cherished within the details and much of the essence remains as they originally had it together. We’ll be raising a glass this month full of excitement and pride for the journey they started way back when, that’s still here welcoming lovely people every day. Thank you to all those familiar faces who have supported the shop along the way. Cheers to 50 years!! 🎉
