Hey, everybody, it’s Zach, one of the owners of Landing House. I guess the cat is out of the bag. After eight years of proudly serving Sevier Avenue, June 8th will be our last day open. Ten years ago, my wife Hao and I saw a “For Sale” sign on a neat, creepy old house in the neighborhood we lived in. Sevier Avenue was a desolate place that was honestly… a little sketchy. Our friends at Alliance Brewing had just opened, and the promise of a blossoming neighborhood was alive. We thought it would be great for people to have a place to grab some food to go along with their local craft beers, and we plowed headfirst into the insanely scary and hectic world of restaurant ownership. Now, that shabby little neighborhood we once knew is completely unrecognizable. Much has changed, and with that change brings new problems to confront. While we have weathered many obstacles over the years, we feel that we have reached a point where it would be better to leave on our own terms than be forced to close in the future. It’s a hard business, and our hats are off to anyone who is crazy enough to do it. However, as hard as it may be, it does have plenty of rewards. Namely, in working with some of the most genuinely lovely people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Our staff has changed quite a bit over time, but the last five years or so we have had a solid and dedicated crew that kept us going. I do not think we would have even made it to this point without them. Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do. We would also like to thank all of our customers. Our business has grown substantially every year we have been open, and that is due to your loyal patronage and word of mouth, which means the world to us. Once again, thank you Knoxville, and especially South Knoxville, for all your support. Love, The LH Team.
