My name is Angie Apel and I am a Knox native and a 1994 graduate of Keystone High School. In 1995, I married my high school sweetheart, and we promptly moved to Virginia where he was stationed while he served in the USMC. While there, I gave my life to the Lord (Thank yo

u, Jesus!), tutored and taught preschool, and earned a Virginia Teaching License and a BA in English. Next, I taught second and first grades in the public school for two years before having my first kiddo in 2000. Twenty-four years later, here I am back in Knox, richer by 5 more kids, over 20 years of homeschooling, a Master's degree in Classical education, and a whole lot of life experience.

All right folks, It’s June and our bakery case is full! Woo-hoo!

Did you know that June is National Give a Bunch of Balloons Month? According to National Today, “National Give a Bunch of Balloons Month is celebrated in June to raise awareness about sick children and find ways to reduce their suffering and spread joy in their lives.”

In honor of National Give a Bunch of Balloons Month, our featured book is The Twenty-One Balloons by William Pene Dubois. Check out our June drinks below!
