When your employee says, “You choose,” sometimes you just have to accept the challenge! 😏🍔

So… three cryptids walk into Lulu’s. 😂

They’re broke. They’re starving. And none of them wants another sandwich.

“Give us something cheap, filling and a little different.”

Believe it or not, that’s pretty close to how one of Hawaii’s most iconic comfort foods was born.

Back in 1949 at the Lincoln Grill in Hilo, a group of hungry teenagers asked for something cheap, filling and not a sandwich.. The owner served up some rice topped with a hamburger patty and brown gravy,the fried egg came later. As the story goes, one teenager’s nickname was “Crazy”—or Loco—and somebody added Moco because it rhymed. 😂

Honestly, this is exactly how the best food ideas happen:

“What do we have?”

“Rice.”

“A burger.”

“Gravy.”

“Throw an egg on it.”

“Hell yeah. We’re onto something.” 😂
