Lisa and I are very saddened by the passing of a wonderful lady, Ms. Evalyn. She loved coming to the Greek Kitchen so much, almost every week, with her lady friends from the assisted living facility. Her favorite was the Avgolemono soup. When we closed the restaurant, she stopped by Hungry Joe's in Schnucks to grab her soup fix and to take a picture with me. We displayed one of her paintings of the Parthenon in Athens on a wall in our restaurant for all to see. She was very sweet, and always smiling when she saw us. There are stories of her and other customers who touched us deeply in our new book about owning a restaurant. Thank you for being a great part of our lives. RIP. Joe and Lisa

HELLO LOVERS OF SWEET GREEK TREATS!
Lisa has baked some amazing packages of Baklava, and took them over to Freddies market. There are roughly 12 pieces in each tray and would be a huge hit at a get-together. Speaking of parties, if you really want to please your guests, you will win them over with one of Lisa's custom-created hummus platters pictured below. They will be available in 12 and 16 inch platters and can be designed any way you like them. They can be ordered through Freddies with two days notice. Freddies is at 9052 Big Bend Blvd. in Webster Groves.

Hello friends of the Greek Kitchen. Amazon just released my new book called: "Do you think it's easy owning a restaurant? An insider's account: The great, the bad, and the ugly.
It is a must-read for those considering opening a restaurant, and for those who enjoy eating in them but do not know what goes into the food on their tables. There are some great stories about the Greek Kitchen, Lisa, and our customers. I want to thank Lisa for her contributions to the book as well.
It is also available on the Kindle version as well. We hope to sell a lot of them so we can afford a trip to Mexico next January. LOL

Hello everyone. I just dropped off a new batch of Greek “get over the cold” soup. I also replenished our supply of spanakopita and our seasoning. We used so much of our seasoning at the Greek kitchen for marinating our chicken skewers for our best seller the chicken kabob platter. It was also used for our dressing and other protein meals. Stop by Starrs today to stock up for the freezing temps coming this weekend. See you there. OPA!

Greetings everyone. We just delivered a new batch of fresh hummus to Freddies market in Kirkwood, and tomorrow at 11am, I will have a new batch of hummus, our award-winning Greek Avgolemono soup, and spanakopita at Starrs. If you are not familiar with spanakopita, it is a super tasty spinach and cheese pastry with 3-cheeses, Greek seasonings, and butter. The filo dough is super flaky and is always a big hit with your guests. See you at Starrs tomorrow. OPA!
