Meet Litsa, the proud owner and heart of Broadway Lights Diner. ❤️ Her journey in the restaurant business began right after high school, when her father took over a small trolley diner called the Colonial Diner in 1975. When he realized how much work it required, Litsa and her then-husband stepped in to take over. What began as a young woman entering an industry largely dominated by men became a lifelong journey of determination, resilience, and love for her community.
After ten years of running the diner with her husband, Litsa faced another challenge when they divorced. While raising her two children, Zach and Efe, she made it her mission to keep the diner going—and she did. With tremendous help from her parents, Litsa worked day and night to build the business. Over the years, the Colonial Diner became Broadway Lights Diner, and for the past 40 years, Litsa has proudly owned and operated it on her own.
Now, 50 years after she first entered the restaurant business, Litsa has created something that goes far beyond a place to eat. Broadway Lights Diner is a family. Many of her employees have been part of that family for years, sharing her commitment to treating every customer with kindness, respect, and compassion. She also believes strongly in giving back to the community that has supported her family for generations. Through donations to local organizations and causes—and by making sure those who cannot afford a meal are still fed—Litsa continues to turn gratitude into action.
After five decades, her pride isn't just in the diner she built, but in the people, relationships, and community that have made it all possible. Litsa's story is one of perseverance, strength, family, and a lifelong commitment to serving others. ❤️
