Anyone heading to the pool today? Lake Sophia open till Labor Day. The most gorgeous spring fed swimming situation just minutes from both our stores Village coffee and goods and Village Grocery and Refillery . Recommended bringing some treats and coffee from the store as food is not available there aside from vending machines.

Lake Sophia on a sunny day, what an amazing addition to our community. It’s pretty special and the sun was shining today. Definitely be careful out there, and car pool or ride if you can!

Incase you needed another reason to love Kingston, the newly opened Lake Sophia at Sojourner Truth State Park is a stunning edition for swimming and just relaxing in the quarry.
We drove and parked for $8 where there’s also electric car charging available. Then walked over about 3 mins to the lake. The two swimming options are so inviting, with the roped off lake that is at least 18ft deep or the shallower and more accessible pool that is only 4ft deep max. There are also 4 trained life guards stationed around the pool and lake.
The design is stunning and everything is so tastefully done. There’s a handy little snack vending machine area and very clean bathrooms/changing areas and showers. The water refills are handy too. Maybe grab some food from either of our stores and come down to hang!
Well done to all involved in bringing this together and to life!!
Let’s look after it now!
Oh, and the water was so warm and clean, crystal clear.

If you followed along from last week, today we had around 10 locals come to help us decide if we should start using local butters sheets for our croissant from Ploughgate Creamery . The decision was made…. After 100’s of reply’s from you, the people in the room decided and chose the Ploughgate butter over our current butter from France. This is incredibly exciting and as soon as we can we will make the switch. For now, our croissant are still pretty awesome so come and grab one! Thank you to everyone who messaged and gave us feedback on our croissant, it’s exciting to know there’s people in our community who are so passionate about their food choices. We are so lucky!

Requirements….
1.Attend a croissant tasting on Monday July 13th at 12pm at Village coffee and goods in our seating area.
2. Taste two versions of our croissant as we sample our new local butter sheets from Ploughgate Creamery creamery.
3. Receive a coffee and $25 gift card (and the tasting croissant ) and provide some feedback on preference through a short survey.
No age limits! Kids welcome to join!! But limited spots available!!
Results will be shared! New butter maybe chosen!! We will see!!
