Happy Monday! It’s a good morning for hot mint tea and za’atar fresh out of the oven. A heatwave followed by damaging storms wasn't ideal for a holiday weekend. We hope everyone is safe and not severely impacted.

One year ago today, we opened the doors to our very first Hummus & Honey location. 🎂

Looking back, I had no idea what this year would bring. There were moments of excitement, moments of uncertainty, and so much hard work—but through it all, one thing never changed: our vision of creating a place that feels like home.

From day one, family has always come first.

When I first dreamed of opening Hummus & Honey, I thought I would simply carry on my mom’s recipes. What I never expected was the incredible blessing of having her right by my side every step of the way. Getting to cook alongside her, learn from her every day, and introduce our community to the recipes that have been passed down through our family has meant more to me than words can express. Every dish we serve carries a piece of our home, our memories, and our love. Mom, thank you for being the best cook, role model, and simply being the good person you are. ❤️

Our greatest goal has always been to give every person who walks through our doors an authentic Middle Eastern experience—not just through the food, but through the atmosphere. We want you to feel like you’re not walking into a restaurant, but into our home. We want you to feel welcomed, cared for, and treated like family. Seeing so many of you return again and again, bringing your own families and friends, has been the greatest compliment we could ever receive.

This past year has been more than we ever imagined. In less than a year, because of your incredible support, we were able to expand into a new space and begin an exciting new chapter. None of that would have been possible without each and every one of you who chose to support a small family business.

To my amazing staff—thank you. Thank you for believing in this dream, for standing beside me through every challenge, and for helping build Hummus & Honey into what it is today. You have become more than coworkers; you have become family. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or joined us along the way, each of you has left your mark on this journey, and I am forever grateful.

And to our customers—you have become our extended family. Thank you for your kindness, your encouragement, your patience, your smiles, and for allowing us to share our traditions with you. Thank you for filling our dining room with laughter, conversations, and memories. You have given us more than your business—you’ve given us a community.

As we celebrate one year, I know this is only the beginning. We have so many exciting things ahead, and we can’t wait to continue growing, serving our community, and welcoming so many new faces into the Hummus & Honey family.
