Soooo....
Some of you may have heard/seen the news....
We made the call to not reopen this past week and it wasn’t an easy one. The Covid pandemic puts too much strain on an already fragile micro economy that is the restaurant world and for those of us who don’t have deep pockets and do depend on the business for our livelihood it was an especially hard blow. Moving forward did not seem viable at this point in time and it became clear that it was time to throw in the proverbial towel and concentrate our remaining efforts on our friends families and loved ones.
We would like to thank all of you, every one of you, who has supported us over the past 8 years. Yes 8 years!!! April 14, 2011 we opened our doors for the first time to the wonderful and growing community that has become Uptown Kingston and to all of you whom also traveled far and wide just to eat at our establishment.
Over the past 8 years we have made many deep connections with many of our customers, some choosing to dine with us many times a week and then grow to become more than customers, they became friends and part of our family. We will miss you dearly and again, we thank you.
To our local farmers and producers it has been an honor and pleasure to work so closely with so many of you. Some of the most sincere and hard working people I have met in this industry are surrounding all of us in our local area and we were truly blessed to be able to bring such wonderful foods and products to all of our patrons. Thank you all for what you work so hard at creating!
We hope that you will continue to support your local businesses. The “mom and pops”. They are all also feeling the enormous pressure of the recent developments in our world. They do not have corporate money behind them, they do not do this for a hobby while living off of another income, they, like we did, depend upon all of you to help them put food on their own tables, pay their bills and mortgages and rents. We do it because we care and love what we do and I know I’m speaking for more than just ourselves when I sincerely thank you for the love and
support you have all given us.
