Howdy, friends! The couple of weeks after Labor Day are always a bit slower in the restaurant/bakery world, as the vacation crowds die down and we all settle into new work / school / family routines. We do hope you'll come out for this last official weekend of summer, though, as the weather is looking beautiful for Saturday AND we've got a new bread for you to try. (Potato Cheddar Scallion, yes please!) Plus, tomorrow is the annual Heart of Midtown Festival (https://www.rewindkingston.com/heart-of-midtown) on Field Court from 2 to 8 pm, with music and crafts and all sorts of activities to benefit mental health, brought to you by our friends and neighbors at Rewind Kingston.

Speaking of Field Court, where our Broadway location is located: We'll be open our regular hours with our daytime menu from 9 am to 3 pm. Then, from 4 to 8 pm, we'll be serving up focaccia pizza by the slice and other drinks and snacks! Also, please note that Field Court will be closed to traffic ALL DAY tomorrow (Saturday), but there is additional free parking just out front on Broadway, as well as a municipal lot just down the road off of Cornell Street. Please plan your breakfast / brunch / lunch visits accordingly, and we also recommend stopping by the festival in the afternoon or evening!

Just like every Saturday, you can also find us at Barbarossa Lane from 9 am to 2 pm (with online ordering available NOW), and at the uptown Kingston Farmers Market from 9 am to 1 pm. We'll also be at the Rhinebeck Market on Sunday 10 am to 2 pm, rain or shine. We hope you have a great weekend, and that you can close out the season with some delicious local treats :)

TOMORROW is SATURDAY so you know where to find us: Kingston Farmers Market 9-1, Barbarossa Lane 9-2, and Broadway from 9 to 3 — BUT — tomorrow is also the annual Heart of Midtown Festival, an amazing and inspiring day of music, art, crafting, community, and wellness activities taking place right outside our Broadway location on our sweet little side street, Field Court.

The festival is FREE and will be going from 2 to 8 pm, and if you need some extra incentive, we’ll also be extending our hours and serving up focaccia pizza slices (and other snacks and beverages) from 4:00 onward.

Please note: Field Court will be closed ALL DAY in preparation for the fest, so if you’re visiting us during normal breakfast/lunch hours, know that parking may be limited. There are still free spots right out front on Broadway, plenty of other street parking nearby, and a municipal lot right down the road on Cornell Street.

For easy access to bread and pastries, remember you can always visit our Barbarossa location (with a private parking lot!) Friday through Sunday, 9 am to 2 pm — and you can preorder on our website NOW for even faster pickup.

We’ve got a new bread tomorrow — Potato, Cheddar + Scallion Levain — and lots of other delicious things at all three of our locations. We hope to see you, morning, noon, or night!

What you got in that sub????

Brand new special with particularly beginning of autumn feelings. The ESCA-ROLLOUT starts with local Escarole cooked in a ludicrous amount of hardneck garlic, hot peppers and olive oil. Pork rillette (don’t be scared, it’s just roast pork turned into a meatloaf type of slice) that’s then griddled to make it warm and crispy. Then just some real Italian Ricotta Salata to add some punch. It’s very good and it’s just what will warm you on this kind of blustery day.

This weekend, we celebrate the end of unofficial summer, the start of a new school year, the very best of farmers market season, and, of course, the American worker. So we invite you to enjoy the fruits (and grains) of OUR labor, like the Red White + Blue-Berry Stuffed Croissant, the Star-Spangled Shortbread Cookies, the new Tomato-Caprese Danish, and all of the crusty and delicious sourdough we've got for sale right now. Whether you’re relaxing all weekend or putting in extra shifts, we hope you get a chance to enjoy some delicious food!

And please, give it up this weekend to the folks who keep this country running day in and day out — especially on holidays — including the bakers, farmers, food-makers, and hospitality folks who make up the heart and soul of the Hudson Valley this time of year. In all seriousness, we know that our nation has a long way to go until we can truly recognize protections like fair wages and safe workplaces for everyone — especially in the food industry, and especially with our government’s current priorities. But we also know that much has been accomplished, and we’re proud to be part of a small business community doing our best to keep up the fight. And have we mentioned that our team is the best?? Happy last Friday in August! This weekend we’re bringing back our Tomato-Basil-Pecorino Levain that sold out super fast a few weeks ago. We have a few up for preorder, so snag one now, or visit us early, to make sure you don’t miss out!

We’ve also got our (gigantic) 100% Whole Wheat Miche on sale through Sunday, and a special (gluten-free!) Orange-Almond Cupcake stuffed with no-bake cheesecake filling and topped with pistachio buttercream. It’s also the last weekend for our Peach Crisp Danish, before we roll out some fun new specials for September.
