Thank you all so very much for your messages of love and support. It means the world to us. There are some that don't understand the unconditional love a pet can give and hopefully receive in return. Even when there is a loss, I am truly grateful to be one who does.💙

12 years ago I adopted this very sick little kitty form the infirmary at Animal Kind in Hudson. Something about her spoke to me and for the next month, I spent every spare minute nursing her back to health which in truth, she never had. I took her to work with me every day, and back home every night. The day she jumped off my lap and ran all over the store, I knew we had made it. She would be OK. And she was. At least for the next 12 years. This last week, she started to leave us the same way she came to us. This afternoon, she took her last breath. Steve and I are are heartsick, but we know that we gave her a good home, and a wonderful life full of love that she might never had gotten. Thank you to Animal Kind for the wonderful work they do, and thank you to the Lake Katrine Hospital for doing the best they could for our little Callie.
