Maxine Davidowitz embarked on her career as a painter after working for many years as a magazine designer and editor, so one could say that she has a real eye. Of her work, Maxine says “My goal is to create imagery with mood, ambiguity and richness, and to capture the feeling of awe that my surroundings inspire.” Known for her abstract work, Maxine is also adept at more realistic depictions of the natural world. We are very excited to announce a collaboration with our friends at Alan Goolman and the wonderful Accord-based artist Wendy Hollender … save the date for a book signing here at Kingston Social with Wendy Hollender on Sunday July 19 in celebration of her new book ‘The Album of Plant Families’. There is no pre-registration required… simply come, grab an espresso and a copy of this gorgeous book, and meet the artist! In addition, we will be exhibiting a selection of her original artworks on paper, framed and available for purchase, July 16 through August 11. Plus notecards and reproductions of illustrations found in the new book, ready to frame. And make sure to check out the show of her work at 68 Prince Street Gallery in Midtown Kingston, opening on July 18.
