Last post, I promise! We HAVE to mention Graised Pastures. If I regret anything about The Lost Texan, it’s that we didn’t get to do more business with this family owned operation in Dandridge, Tennessee. Their standards are on par with the quality we boast about. It just doesn’t get any better than this. We always wanted to serve more lean meats but it was such a battle with pit and warmer space. (Can y’all imagine us having LESS brisket?!) If you ever had our chicken & sausage gumbo or our smoked chicken salad 🤤, or smoked chicken quarters, this is where the meat was sourced from - start to to finish! Check them out and make the trip to Dandridge! You won’t be disappointed. Like most mom & pop and family owned shops, you’ll receive stellar service. Travis was a joy to work with. ♥️

I wanted remind everyone that Simpson’s Meats in Knoxville has the best quality American sourced meats around! 🇺🇸 This was our main (& favorite ♥️) beef & pork supplier! They have local dairy products and poultry too. We would trust anything they sell. The team at Simpson’s became friends that we treasure and look forward to staying in touch with. We just can’t say enough good things about them. Please go see them off of Lovell Road. If you want American meat & dairy that is antibiotic & hormone free (including grass-fed beef), they are your one stop shop. You’ll receive the best service there!

Hi friends! We are back in in Texas. So bittersweet. It’s too green and humid to be fall. 😂 However we have enjoyed the last few days of eating my dad’s chili, Cass’ mom’s gumbo, and other amazing foods as well as driving 80 mph with the speed of traffic. 🤠 (If you know, you know) Even being home, we feel a little lost without all of our friends in beautiful East Tennessee.

I don’t feel like we said it properly, but we appreciate how so many of you allowed us to be part of your weekly routine, holidays, and special occasions. That really blew us away! The fact that y’all chose our food over the last couple of years means so much to us. Thank y’all for allowing us to share our culture with East Tennessee. 🧡 It was more than a goal - it was a demand- that we would put out food that we equal in quality and taste to what we feed our own family on a regular basis. I remember telling Cass that if it wasn’t good enough in quality & taste to feed to our kids five times a week, then we weren’t serving it. If you know us personally, then you know that we are a bit boogie when it comes to nourishing foods. Rightfully so! Foods fuel the body. It was fun and A LOT of hustle. 😅 We are looking forward to getting everyone in our family physically healthy again as well as spending time with family. And, Lord willing, we will move back to East Tennessee again one day.

Gosh, Tennessee! Y’all have sent us off with so much love and appreciation. Our last day on the truck was incredible. We are so grateful to have made so many friends through this business. As a family - we do plan on moving back to East Tennessee. We miss Texas but this place has become home too!

With all that being said, we’re firing up the pit one last time as we tie up loose ends this week. We will be selling WHOLE meats only.
Briskets and butts. ♥️

They come vacuum sealed with reheating & slicing instructions.
& cold if you’re in Tennessee.
& frozen if you’re in Texas.

Whole brisket pricing is $30/lb. Cass rounds down to the nearest pound. Comes with reheating & cutting instructions.

Howdy, friends! 🤠 We wanted to share some important news with y’all. Due to some unexpected health matters within our immediate family, we've made the tough decision to shut down and relocate back to Texas. In addition to focusing on taking care of the health matters in our own household, we will be present to support our beloved aging family members. Our last serving day will be on October 28th, 2023.

This whole thing started as a true mom & pop shop. Our refusal to sacrifice quality came at steep personal costs from both myself and Kristin as well as our three daughters whom we also homeschool. There have been a couple people around us who were relentless to see The Lost Texan succeed. Nate Riddle is worth his weight in gold as a business partner, consultant, and a friend. If you’re blessed enough to have this man in your life, you’re blessed enough. The entire Riddle family holds a special place in our hearts. We couldn’t have had room to grow if it weren’t for Kevin Smith Kingston Ace Hardware. He generously opens his parking lot to local food trucks. He genuinely wants to see other small businesses succeed and is always there to lend a helping hand. Both of these men add value to Roane County. Last but not least his Elijah, our most dedicated employee. He worked hard to learn this trade and do his job well. We are thankful for his time with us.

We are immensely grateful to our customers for the joy and support you've shown us. You've made this barbecue journey absolutely incredible, and we couldn't have asked for a better community.

Thank you for your understanding and continued love. Let's make our last few weeks together sizzle with the same Texan spirit and flavor!
