It is a sad day being our last day and I wanted to take the time to thank all of you for coming out to support my staff in this hard time. They are all amazing and I have nothing but love for all of them. they have gone above and beyond this week. they have not only taken care of all of you but me as well. there have been so many times I have cried and they all have checked on me while making sure you all have been taken care of.
I have loved serving all of you and running around the restaurant like chicken with its head cut off, assisting all the stuff to make your dining experience the best I could.
Many people have asked the reason for the closure and while financial issues were there, they were not the deciding factor. The bigger issue was that many of you know that I built it for Jamie with my own 2 hands. 13 months into the journey I broke up with Jamie with the hopes that the issues could be resolved. Unfortunately only more issues developed between us. Almost 2 years after we broke up it is no longer fair for me to ask her to keep her life on hold to support me as I built the business up to be able to support myself. We decided it was time for her to move out of my house and for us to be able to move forward in life. Unfortunately after a 100 hour work week there is no time available for me to do anything else to make money to support myself. I have had to shut it down to seek a job. I wish her well and I truly hope she finds what she is looking for in the world.
I also again want to thank you for the support you showed me last year after my accident. That boost in business kept us going without me there. So I may not be as pretty as I was when it started, I am still alive and they still can't figure out how. I must be meant to do something and I will take the time to figure it out. one thing I know is that it is not going to be in a restaurant.
Please do keep following our page as once the attorneys get done if it is possible for me to start bottling my sauces I will be doing so and let everyone know.

It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I am announcing that Rum Runners Café will be closing its doors, and saying goodbye is heavier than we ever imagined. We made it just past our two‑year mark — two years filled with laughter, stories, first dates, family dinners, and so much more!

To everyone who walked through our doors —Terry and I thank you. You kept us going through the highs, the lows, and every wild twist in between. Your support, your kindness, your loyalty… it meant more than we can ever express. We’re proud of what we built. We’re grateful for every face, every meal, every memory. Even though this chapter is ending, the love we felt inside these walls will stay with us forever.

From our Rum Runners family to yours: thank you for being part of our story. Our last day open for service will be Saturday Aug. 22nd, 2026.

With a tearful heart we hate to see this happen to such a wonderful family and restaurant in our community. It has been an absolute pleasure to work along side you here in the Woodlane Plaza. This is such a Kettering gem and just shows how much small businesses need our support here in our local community. You will truly be missed!
