Before it became a local favorite and must-stop destination, What's Poppin' was just getting started right here in our community 💛

Founded in 1990 by Melissa DeWine, this family-owned gem has been part of Town & Country Shopping Center since the early ’90s, growing into the sweet, nostalgic spot so many of us know and love today.

After decades of family leadership, What’s Poppin’ is stepping into a new chapter as Melissa’s son, Shawn, takes over as the new owner…continuing the family tradition and hometown charm that’s made it a regional favorite for generations.

From first visits to lifelong traditions… this place holds a lot of memories. Join us in celebrating the legacy (and future!) of What’s Poppin’ 🍿

Today marks the 35th anniversary of What’s Poppin’, the beginning of my retirement, and the start of the transfer of the business to our younger son Shawn, and his wife Jen.
To say I have mixed emotions is an understatement. Both of our sons came to work with me as infants. Those of you that have been around long enough saw both working What’s Poppin’ as their first job.
In the past 35 years, we moved our location a few times before settling at Town & Country. We have employed so many local teenagers that I have lost count. It amazes me when they come into the store with children of their own and tell me they worked at What’s Poppin’ when they were in high school, or they remember coming in for an after-school snack when they were young. I realize that we are a part of the community. I am incredibly blessed to have worked at a job I loved with such incredible people. So, thank you for all the years you have patronized our business. I know Shawn will appreciate your continued support. Here’s to the next 35 years!

What's Poppin' is looking for 2 people to join our team for the holiday season. We need a production person and a sales/server. If you would like to work 2 or 3 weekdays from 10-4, stop in and fill out an application and set up an interview!
