This morning scared us. Really scared us.
911 had to be called after David’s buttonhole in his fistula suddenly began bleeding forcefully and uncontrollably, and we couldn’t get it to stop.
Thankfully, God was on his side today. 🙏❤️
They were able to control the bleeding, place a few stitches, and bring his blood pressure down. He is doing okay now, and we are soblessed.
Sometimes because David looks strong and because we have been doing this for so long, we forget how much his kidney failure really does take a toll on his body.
Dialysis, appointments, procedures, needles… it has all just become part of our daily life and it’s easy to forget the seriousness of it all.
And then a morning like today happens.
Seeing your kids watch their dad go through something like this puts everything back into perspective. It reminds you that even though this has become our normal, none of it is really normal.
So we wanted to take this opportunity to put David’s story out there again. ❤️
We haven’t found his donor yet, but that does not mean they are’t out there. Maybe they just have not heard his story yet.
