Had to grab lunch to go and since I was relatively close and especially since they were serving up amazing comfort food, I had to take advantage. If you haven’t had their Back To School special of turkey gravy and potatoes, you’re missing out.

This is one of those dinners I’ll remember for a pretty long time. The food was amazing. But what makes this place super special is the attention to detail at every step of their service.

Our server Olivia was awesome. We could tell she genuinely loved working there and that she cared about all the little details that make a night out nearly perfect. I’d be willing to bet the owner has read Unreasonable Hospitality and taken it to heart.

If you haven’t made your way to Salted Mill in Walla Walla, you absolutely must.

Oh, I almost forgot to talk about the food. The NY Strip was one of the best I’ve had in the last few years. The side of Woodstone Potatoes were fire. The Pork Katsu was delicious. The fires were full of flavor.

The ahi tuna wonton appetizer was super good too.

Make your way to The Salted Mill as soon as you can.

Friday night. Dinner at Fuego in Kennewick. The carne asada was some of the best I’ve had in a very long time. Probably the first time I’ve been asked at what temperature I’d like make carne asada cooked (med rare) and they nailed it. The flavor was top tier.

Great food. Great service. Definitely back on my radar for when I want amazing carne asada.

For my restaurant owners who take reservations: How far out do you take reservations?

Do you like to know as far in advance as possible?

Or do you suggest guests call a day or two in advance to make reservations?

My friends… this is a place I’ve been trying to get to for a while (they have limited Thursday and Friday hours at Red Mountain Kitchen).

Here’s is the Loaded Island Teriyaki Chicken and the Loco Moco with crispy onions and extra gravy.

Both are super delicious. The teriyaki is truly out of bounds tho. This will be my go to Friday night spot for a while. It should be yours too.
