8/27 Tomater Tater on special today! I had a great visit with my daughter. The coolest thing, besides being with her, was the Matanuska Galcier Hike she took me on. It is a 27 mile long glacier, though we only traversed the front mile or so. It is a moving glacier that slowly makes its way down the mountain. We got to learn a lot while crossing crevasses and exploring a 3/4 ice cave. They tap the iceberg, kind of like maple syrup, and we got to enjoy some of the delicious water that started at the top of the glacier 500-600 years ago. A kid on our tour said it tasted like melted ice. Hard to argue with that!
