Before anyone else is awake, Cristobal and Chris are already there. Fixing what broke overnight, loading what needs to go, making sure everything is ready before the first customer shows up.

Cristobal built Taste of Puebla 16 years ago with his wife, family recipes, and a work ethic that never quits. Chris grew up watching that and then picked up right where his dad left off, and now he is a father doing the same thing for his own son. When the equipment breaks, they fix it. When someone doesn’t show up, they cover it. When the day runs long, they stay.

This Father’s Day we want to say thank you to the two men who hold so much of this together without ever making it look hard. We love you both.

Cinco de Mayo means something different to us.

For most people in the U.S., it’s a day to celebrate with food, drinks, and good company. We love that. But for our family, it’s personal.

We come from Puebla, México. The city where this day was born. Our grandfather Señor Antonio woke up before sunrise every day to make tamales for his neighbors. Our grandfather Don Juan ran the local molino, the mill where families brought their corn to become masa. Our mother Mariana grew up learning that food is more than a meal. It is memory. It is family. It is home.

That’s what we bring to every dish at Taste of Puebla.
