¡Feliz cumpleaños, Mamá! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating Mariana, our mom and the founder of Taste of Puebla. After 25 years working in the mushroom industry, she took her love for cooking to a small cafe in 2010, and 16 years later that dream has become something our whole family gets to be part of.

She’s a mom of 6 who shows up every single day, including the long, hard, exhausting ones, and she does it with so much strength and heart. Everything you taste from us starts with her recipes and her hands.

You have probably seen Chris at the farmers market, pulling up in the catering van, or hovering over a stove with three pots going at once. He is the oldest son, 28 years old, a husband, a dad, and someone who has been in this kitchen since before he was tall enough to reach the counter.

Chris learned to make tamales as a kid, worked every market season growing up, and somewhere along the way also became the person we call when the guacamole machine stops working at 7am or the chip fryer needs fixing. He figures it out every time.

16 years of Taste of Puebla and he has been here for all of it. We are proud to have him and even prouder to call him family.
