Hurst Restaurant and Seafood as it is known today was started by the family's patriarchs Katherine and LJ Hurst. In 1939, Katherine and LJ founded LJ's Restaurant and Lounge due to their passion for cooking and entertaining. Later the restaurant changed its name to Hurst Chicken Shack in 1946 and is currently located in Kenner, Louisiana.

ATTENTION CUSTOMERS: Hurst Restaurant and Seafood will be re-opening for the year tomorrow, February 19! We are so thankful for your patience and very excited to serve you all for another year!

Tomorrow we will be cooking some of your favorites— white beans, red beans, smothered turkey wings, smothered liver, and meatballs and spaghetti, as well as frying chicken, pork chops and fish!
