A heartfelt thank you to JH Kelly for having us cater lunch today.

This was the second time JH Kelly has trusted Ang Sarap Foodies & Goodies to feed the crew, and that really means a lot to our family.

Special thank you to Debbie for reaching out, coordinating everything, and making today’s order so easy. We also want to give a shoutout to Molly for helping bring us in the first time. We truly appreciate both of you.

Today’s spotlight is Sapin-Sapin.

Sapin-sapin is a colorful Filipino layered rice cake made with glutinous rice flour and coconut milk. The name means “layers,” which makes sense the second you see it.

It is bright, chewy, sweet, and basically dessert wearing party clothes. 😄

We’ll be at Cascades Amphitheater this Thursday night for Riley Green, serving up hot homemade Filipino food before the show.

It might be country night, but the lumpia is coming in loud.

Just wanted to say thank you to the Kelso Highlander Festival for having us this weekend at Tam O’Shanter Park. 🏴🥢

We really appreciate the organizers, volunteers, performers, vendors, and everyone behind the scenes who put the festival together. It takes a lot of work to make an event like that happen, and it showed.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, grabbed food, talked with us, came back for more, or sent people our way. We appreciate all of it.

This one was special for me too. Being half Scottish, it was cool getting to be around the culture, wear a kilt for the first time, and hang out with the WICKED TINKERS for a bit. Glad you guys loved the food.

It was a great weekend, and we’re grateful Ang Sarap Foodies & Goodies got to be part of it.

Today’s spotlight is Ensaymada.

Ensaymada is a soft Filipino sweet bread often topped with butter, sugar, and cheese. It is fluffy, rich, and perfect with coffee.

Bread said, “What if I dressed up?” and ensaymada happened. 😄
