It's game night for the St. Joseph Mustangs. Check out all of the deals and fun happening tonight!

$1.50 Dogs, Free Baseball Cards, All City Athletes, Kids Run Bases, and more!

Gates open at 5:15pm. We’ll be wearing our exclusive Tenderloins jersey, designed to look like fresh butcher paper, courtesy of triumphfoods_stj. You can bid on these game worn jerseys during each Tenderloins game! We’ll also be serving a limited number of some of the best concession food you’ll ever find- tenderloins from Adams Bar & Grill!

Thanks to Altec Inc., the first 100 kids 14 and under will get free Mustangs baseball cards. It’s also Family Night, sponsored by Rogers Pharmacy & Home Medical Equipment - Saint Joseph. We’ll also have a pregame ceremony to honor all area high school athletes and teams that have won any special honors, recognition, or won any level of championship. Each athlete will get a free ticket, and one more for a guest. Check in at the Promo Table at the Front Gate by 6pm.

Hot dogs are $1.50 all night long, thanks to bankwithsouthern. Finally, all kids can also run the bases after the game, thanks to FastGas!

First Pitch is schedule for 6:30pm. Our pregame show starts at 5:20- come early to join the fun. For tickets, please call 816.279.STJO (7856) or stjoemustangs.com. The Mustangs Gift Shop and Ticket Office is open today from 10am-4:30pm, and will reopen when gates open to the game.

I suppose I’m writing this as a way to remember my creative process. As I continue to recover from brain surgery, I’ve noticed subtle differences in how my cognition and memory work. I’m still having good days, and then there are the other days. They are filled with brain fog, fatigue, and tangled memories. What I’m discovering is that writing, as it has done my entire life, is coming to my rescue. It is a way to slow down, to organize my perspective, and gather my scattered thoughts and visions. For me, that’s more important now than ever. So here I am, talking about my upcoming book, which has languished in a dark drawer for way too long.

The ideas that eventually converged to form Sanctuary lingered in the back of my mind for ages, triggered by an abandoned place or antique portrait, before I ever put a word to paper.
