Summer of 2023 is beginning and, for those of you who do not already know, The Fat Lady Cafe closed and the building was sold last year to a group of investors who bought other buildings in Kauneonga Lake. They have rented The Fat Lady Cafe to a new group who are opening a Greek Restaurant in the coming weeks. I will keep you posted. When they open, I will post their menu and let you all know their hours. I still live in Kauneonga Lake and hope, for the health of the town and the well being of all of us that the new restaurant thrives. Be well. Be happy. I get calls all the time asking me when I am opening so I opened up my page, which I do with less and less frequency
, and figured I would let all of you know. The name of the new restaurant is Santorini. Since I love Greek food, and Greece, I'll be there to support them. Remember please that all beginnings are difficult. I wish them luck and all of you a great and happy summer.

Our salad man showed up sick on Thursday before we opened. We sent him home. He called in sick on Friday and he took a Covid test which showed positive late Saturday and we closed when we got the results. We are now closed Sunday and Monday until all of the staff can be tested. Because he was only in the kitchen for a short time and made no salads, and no-one was in the restaurant eating until he went home, we are fairly certain no customers were affected, but we are testing the staff and not opening until we know for sure that all of us are negative for Covid. We apologize for any inconvenience and will keep you posted about when we open our doors. Be well. Stay safe. Judith

We have had a young man working in the kitchen who has now tested positive for Covid. He came in on Thursday and did not feel well and we sent him home and had him take a test. We are checking now with the authorities what the proper protocols are and will be closed for the time being till we know what to do. Thank you.
