Let’s help our friends on Houston St make this Halloween the best!!
🎃 HALLOWEEN ON HOUSTON STREET NEEDS OUR COMMUNITY! 🖤🧡
Halloween on Houston Street has become a Kaufman tradition that we absolutely LOVE being part of each year. What many people may not realize, though, is that this event is made possible by the Houston Street homeowners themselves.
While the event is shared and promoted throughout our community, the candy, decorations, setup, food for our guests, and countless hours that go into making Halloween night special are primarily donated by the residents who live here. There isn’t currently a City-funded candy or event budget supplying the homes along Houston Street.
And y’all… 3,000–5,000 trick-or-treaters is A LOT of candy. 😂🍬
Our neighbors happily spend their own money and volunteer their time because we love seeing thousands of kids and families fill our street and make memories here. But as this tradition continues to grow, so does the cost of keeping those candy bowls full.
This year, Halloween falls on a Saturday, and we’re preparing for another HUGE turnout. That’s why we’re asking our Kaufman community, local businesses, organizations, and anyone who loves this tradition to help us keep it going. 🧡
We are accepting unopened, individually wrapped candy or monetary donations. Every bag of candy and every dollar helps take some of the load off the individual homeowners and allows us to continue giving Kaufman kids the Halloween experience they look forward to every year.
We are incredibly thankful for everyone who has donated, volunteered, shared our posts, or supported Houston Street in years past. This tradition belongs to the memories of so many Kaufman families, and we would love to see the whole community rally around the residents who make it happen.
🍬 Candy donations can be dropped off at the locations listed on the flyer. Kaufman’s Mercantile on Grove or City of Kaufman we will likely add more drop off locations through out the month as well.
💵 Monetary donations can be made through the Venmo listed on the flyer. We are currently not 501c3 but if you need a receipt 🧾 or have questions please contact Chainey Michelle Ramirez
And please SHARE this post! Even if you can’t donate, helping us get the word out makes a difference.
🎃 It may happen on Houston Street, but it takes a community to keep the tradition alive. 🖤
We can’t wait to see everyone Saturday, October 31st! 👻🍬🏠
