We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support and enthusiasm you showed for our **4th of July Fry Bread Taco Celebration**! Your presence, smiles, and kind words made this event a tremendous success, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

This event was not just a celebration of Independence Day, but also a beautiful expression of our Haida and Tlingit heritage. Fry bread, while introduced to our ancestors under challenging circumstances, has been embraced and transformed into a symbol of resilience and community. Sharing food is a deeply rooted tradition in our culture, reflecting the values of hospitality, connection, and unity. By coming together to enjoy these meals, we honor our ancestors and strengthen our community bonds.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Cook Frank, helpers Jacob and Randi, and volunteers President Jones, Admin Assistant Kris Kain and her husband Mike for picking up the fireworks, and Randy Stutzman for grabbing last-minute items. We also deeply appreciate the Hamars for working hard at fish camp, ensuring our community has sockeye, a sacred tradition. Your dedication and hard work made this event possible.
*Community Fireworks Notice:*
We are excited to announce that the Organized Village of Kasaan is sponsoring a community fireworks display at dusk from Mayor Liam's beachfront property! Bring your family and join us for a spectacular show. There will also be hotdogs and fireworks for the kiddos to enjoy. Let's continue the celebration together!
This event’s success motivates us to keep bringing more exciting and delicious experiences to the Totem Trail Cafe. Stay tuned for more special events and new menu items in the future!
