Whiskers Cat Cafe and Coffeehouse

Whiskers Cat Cafe and Coffeehouse Kansas City's first Cat Cafe! We offer a few walk-in spots each session which are first come first serve! A neighborhood coffeehouse built on animal welfare!

Reservations are recommended to guarantee your spot and help control the foot traffic in the cat lounge to keep the cats safe and stress-free! Expanding to a full coffeehouse invites the neighborhood to enjoy a great cup of coffee in a safe space, even for those of you who aren’t as attached to cats as we are. Our expansion continues to support the welfare of our cats, as coffee sales fund our cats needs, like food and litter. Which in the end, is what we’re all about. Mon-Tues: Closed
Wed-Sunday: 11:00am-8:00pm

Please note reservations are solely for the cat lounge so swing by our coffeehouse anytime during our open hours!

Bobo and Oakley have been with us since January, and we are SO excited to announce that these sweet boys have officially found their new family!

We couldn’t be more proud of how far they’ve come during their time with us. We’ve watched them grow, gain confidence, show us their personalities, and become the wonderful boys we always knew they were.

Sometimes the right family just takes a little longer to find. And these two were absolutely worth the wait. ❤️

Some kitties are just really, really hard to say goodbye to. 🥹

We get attached. We have our favorites. We fall in love with them right alongside all of you. And sometimes when adoption day comes, there are definitely a few tears.

But then we get the updates…

We see them curled up on someone’s couch, sleeping in their new favorite spot, completely spoiled and so, so loved.

And suddenly the goodbye doesn’t feel quite as hard.

Because as much as we loved having them here, they ended up exactly where they were supposed to be ❤️

Okay, you guys have been asking us to do something like this FOREVER, so we’re finally giving it a try. 😻

✨Study + Work Nights at Whiskers!✨

Bring your laptop, homework, a book, emails you’ve been ignoring, a project you need to finish… whatever you need to get done. Come grab a spot, get some work done, and hang out with cats while you do it.

Thursday Evenings 6:00-7:30pm
$10 for 90 minutes
Includes a cup of drip coffee
$5 specialty lattes
Free Wi-Fi
Ages 16+

We’ll keep things quiet-ish so you can actually get some work done. The cats, however, have not agreed to these terms and will continue to do whatever they want. 😂

Come be productive with us on Thursday nights. Or at least look productive while you pet cats. We won’t judge.

Fern & Juniper officially went home together! 🫶

These girls are cute as ever, and they have some pretty big personalities to match. 😂 We’re so happy these sisters get to stick together!

Every adoption is special, but what really makes us smile is seeing shy cats gain confidence, playful kittens find families, and longtime residents finally get their happily-ever-afters.

Thank you to everyone who visits, volunteers, shares our posts, purchases a coffee, attends an event, or adopts a cat.

You are the reason we’re able to continue helping so many cats find the homes they deserve. 🐾❤️

One of the questions we hear most often is:

“I can’t adopt right now. Can I still help?”

Absolutely. ❤️

While adoptions are always our goal, there are so many other ways to make a difference for the cats and kittens in our care.

Every lounge visit, coffee purchase, pastry, event ticket, and piece of Whiskers merchandise helps provide food, litter, enrichment, medical care, and a safe place for cats while they wait for their forever families. Even something as simple as liking, sharing, or commenting on our posts helps introduce our adoptable cats to more people.

If you’d like to lend an extra helping hand, we’re currently in need of a few everyday supplies:

🐾 Friskies wet food (pâté or gravy varieties- costco and Sam’s Club have huge boxes on sale)
🐾 Clumping clay cat litter (we prefer the regular kind over lightweight since it tracks much less- costco and Sam’s Club have great options)
🐾 Disposable litter boxes
🐾 Stainless steel litter boxes
🐾 Wet Swiffer cloths
🐾 Dry Swiffer cloths
🐾 Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
🐾 A new cat tree (our current one has been loved for years and is finally ready for retirement!)

If shopping is your thing, we’ve also put together an Amazon wishlist with many of our most-needed items with some fun ones thrown in too:

Thank you for helping us give every cat a safe, happy place to stay until they find the family they’ve been waiting for. We truly couldn’t do it without this amazing community. ❤️
