Congratulations to the 2026 American Royal Scholars! 👏

These 10 outstanding students have been selected to represent the future of agriculture through the American Royal Scholars program. Each scholar will receive a scholarship and serve as an ambassador for the American Royal throughout the coming academic year.

Representing nine states and seven universities, this exceptional group of students will have opportunities to grow as leaders through industry engagement, professional development and participation in American Royal events while preparing for careers in agriculture, food and natural resources.

We’re proud to have them represent the American Royal mission and the future of agriculture. Thank you to Merck Animal Health and the Seaboard Foundation for helping make this program possible.

Help us congratulate Zach Cull, recipient of the 2025 Rookie of the Year Award 👏

From day one, Zach jumped in wherever help was needed — even driving back and forth between events during World Series of Barbecue® week to support multiple American Royal events in the same day, all with a smile on his face.

His willingness to serve, positive attitude and dedication to the American Royal mission made an immediate impact. We’re grateful to have volunteers like Zach as part of the Royal family.

Congratulations to this year’s Clem McSpadden Award recipient, Molly Olson! 👏🏻

The Clem McSpadden Award recognizes an individual who has made a lasting impact on the sport of rodeo through leadership, service and dedication to preserving western heritage. Molly currently serves as Chairwoman of the American Royal ProRodeo Committee and is entering her fourth year in the role. She also serves on the boards of the American Royal, the Kansas Horse Council and the Saddle and Sirloin Club of Kansas City.

While Molly has long been a champion of food and agriculture, her passion for rodeo and the western lifestyle continues to shine through her leadership and dedication to the industry. We were proud to recognize her during the 2026 American Royal ProRodeo.

Last month, we were proud to welcome the 2025-2026 Class of Royal Scholars to Kansas City for their spring visit focused on service, education and agriculture.

During their visit, Scholars assisted with American Royal Field Trips and Youth Rodeo activities, helping create meaningful experiences for more than 4,000 elementary students learning about food and agriculture. They also connected with industry leaders and organizations including the American Hereford Association, Agriculture Future of America (AFA), the The Saddle and Sirloin Club of Kansas City, and Dimensional Innovations.

Thank you to Merck Animal Health and the Seaboard Foundation for supporting the Royal Scholars program and investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders.

Investing in the next generation 🎥

During this year’s American Royal Youth Rodeo, 11-year-old aspiring videographer Statler Grover spent the day capturing the event through his own lens and creating this reel simply because he loves telling the story of rodeo.

The Grover family has a long history with the American Royal. Statler’s dad, Scott, previously announced the Circuit Finals Rodeo and Junior Rodeo, and now his family is continuing the tradition of being involved through the next generation.

Providing opportunities for young people to explore their passions and gain real-world experience, whether that’s in the arena or behind the camera, is one of the many ways we continue to champion food and agriculture.

Thank you, Statler, for sharing your talent with us! We can’t wait to see where your creativity takes you next.

A day dedicated to learning about agriculture🐴🌱

Yesterday, we welcomed another group of students from Piper Middle School to the American Royal for a day of hands-on learning about food and agriculture. Students learned about our 125-year history and interacted with stations focused on livestock, food safety, animal care and horticulture.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to help connect Kansas City youth to where their food comes from and introduce them to the many people and industries that make agriculture possible.

Thank you to Kansas State University Olathe, Wyandotte County K-State Extension, Walnut Pond Ranch, Trae Q L Venerable and the Burns Family for helping make this event possible.
