That’s right, Kansas City! We’re taking over your Sunday afternoon with a very special edition of Live From Jasper's Kitchen Radio!

Bob Faulkner of Faulkner's Ranch joins us to talk about one of Kansas City’s favorite fall traditions! It’s pumpkin season, and there’s no better place to celebrate than Faulkner’s Ranch. We’ll talk about the history of this Kansas City family business, pumpkin picking, fall activities, and all the fun waiting for families this October.

Paul Kivett of s2s Bagels joins us to talk about the art of making a great bagel! From the dough and traditional boiling process to that perfect chewy texture and golden crust, we’ll find out what makes a truly great bagel. And of course, we’ll talk about how Paul is bringing his passion for authentic bagels to Kansas City.

Rulber De La Torre of Mas Cantina joins us for a delicious conversation about Mexican cuisine! We’ll talk tacos, traditional Mexican recipes, fresh ingredients, and the flavors that make Mexican food one of Kansas City’s favorites. Rulber will share his story, his passion for cooking, and what makes Mas Cantina special.

Our founder, Jasper J Mirabile Sr.

Today marks 28 years since our dad passed away, and there isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t think about him. I still feel his presence at Jasper’s every day, and I sure do miss him.

There will never be another man quite like my father. He was a true innovator in the restaurant business, never afraid to take a chance or try something new. He was always there to help others, whether it was a fellow restaurateur, a friend, or one of his loyal employees. I often think about how proud he would be to see Jasper’s today, still growing and going strong after all these years.

He made sure his sons I had the best education possible and took me then Italy countless times to learn from some of the best chefs and restaurateurs. But the greatest lesson he ever taught had nothing to do with cooking or running a restaurant. It was the importance of family, something he treasured more than anything.

We know Poppy Jay would be so proud of the family he and my mother raised. His four sons, their wives, his grandchildren, and now his great grandchildren. We can just picture Dad looking down on all of us with that big smile of his. He loved his family so much, and we know he would be having the time of his life with all these little ones running around.

Twenty eight years have gone by, but the memories never fade. We are so grateful for the years we had together, the lessons he taught me, and the opportunity to carry on his legacy every day at Jasper’s.

Salute to you, Dad. I love you, we miss you, and we hope we’re making you proud.
