Parlor KC holds a special place in our story. It’s where The Hungry Hatch got its start as a restaurant, and hearing that they’re closing feels a little like watching a chapter of our own history close.

Restauranting is not for the faint of heart. Behind every restaurant you love are people navigating food costs, staffing, equipment, long days, changing seasons and a hundred things customers may never see.

Every day that we get to unlock our doors and serve Kansas City, I’m grateful. And I’m humble enough to know that in this business, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow. Sometimes all it takes is one really difficult season.

So today, there’s a little extra gratitude for how far we’ve come—and a lot of respect for Parlor and the businesses that gave small concepts like ours a place to begin.

Thank you, KC, for continuing to give The Hungry Hatch a reason to open the doors tomorrow. ❤️
