I hope this message finds you well! Today, I want to clear up some confusion regarding the catfish options available in our city, particularly between Basa and Swai, and our genuine catfish offerings.

Many of you have been misinformed and bamboozled about what you’re really purchasing. It’s crucial to understand that Basa and Swai are types of fish that come from the catfish family, but they aren’t the same as the genuine freshwater catfish you might be looking for – which we proudly offer here at The Big Fish.

When you’re shopping for catfish, remember:
- "Catfish" in our store means true river water catfish—no substitutes.
- If someone tries to tell you that Basa or Swai is the same as authentic catfish, please be cautious. They are not.

We encourage you to do your research before making a purchase elsewhere. Here at The Big Fish, we want to be transparent with you. When we say we are out of catfish, we mean it. We sell only the best and do not carry the alternatives unless you order Basa as Basa.

This is the hard part of being a restaurant owner: when you have to change prices because of a rise in prices of certain products. With that being said, catfish is now on the rise and we’ve never charged you guys extra for catfish. We’ve only charged an fee for Roughy since we’ve been open, but with catfish now being $100, we want to be transparent, so until the price change, we will have to charge extra for catfish. We hate to do it, but we have to do it. Just so you know, when you come in now and order a combo, there will be a three-dollar upcharge. Roughy has also gone up, so now when you order a combo with that, there will be a five-dollar upcharge. We know what’s going on in America, and I hate it for us as consumers, but inflation is here and it’s bad. We’re trying to keep our prices fair, but we gotta keep the lights on and keep our business open for you guys. My apologies, but until things change, these are the prices for the foreseeable future.
