Hi everyone,
There has been a lot of conversation lately about the changes happening on this property—some very supportive, some more critical, and everything in between. We wanted to take a moment to share a little more about how these decisions came to be.
First, the trees. Several people have asked about them, and we completely understand why. Unfortunately, the trees were in poor condition. One had already broken in half a few years ago and fallen across the road. After having them looked at, we learned they were rotten and posed a safety risk. Taking them down was not something we wanted to do, but ultimately it was the responsible choice for safety.
The house itself is incredibly charming and full of history. Our original hope was to keep it and turn it into a small sweet shop. Sadly, once we looked more closely at the structure, we realized it would require extensive structural work to make it safe and usable. As much as we loved that idea, it just wasn’t viable.
Yes, we are putting in parking. This is required to meet city code in order to operate a business. And yes—the plan for the space is mini golf.
When Gabe and I first started dating, mini golf was one of our favorite date night activities. For years we’ve talked about how fun it would be to build a course someday. Our hope is that this becomes a place where families can spend time together, where our local youth have something fun to do in town, and where the community can gather and make memories.
We truly care about this community and appreciate the conversations—even the tough ones. If you have questions or want to reach out directly, please feel free to email us at [email protected].
